A bit about John

It may be difficult to believe coming from a candidate for office, but John doesn’t enjoy talking about himself.  He’d much rather hear the perspective, stories & wisdom of the people he’s with.  This should be promising for you as a prospective voter in the election for Shoreview City Council.  You’ve heard it many times from candidates, we know, but he is a listener, and beyond that, works hard at applying what he learns from other people.

If you ask John, the biggest problem in the political arena today is not enough people having an “open mind.”  If we’re honest, each of us has turned a deaf ear to someone at some point in our lives– whether related to a grudge, a form of intolerance, an unthinking, negative reaction, or perhaps a tad of the ‘expert’s hubris.’

John sees himself as having an open mind regarding multi-factored policy questions, and believes Shoreview administrators and city council have proven to be open to input & dialogue as well.
